It's almost Thanksgiving 2008

Whew! We have celebrated a lot in the past month and a half - Kate turned 1, Jack turned 4, Halloween came and went, and now Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Amazing how fast the weeks have flown by.

Here are some visual highlights... Kate's 1st birthday (discovering cake!):

Then Jack's 4th Birthday was a firefighter theme... (this is a very happy young man!):

And Halloween 2008... our astronaut and princess:

Other things of interest...
  • Jack is doing great in school and really enjoying the new experiences at Children's Center ~ and he's still playing at Mayra's house on the days that I work. Kate is very happy with her caretakers (Cristina and Sandra) too. Such wonderful people in our children's lives.
  • We've had to purchase 8 new tires (4 per car) in the past few weeks (ugh), so we're good to go on that front. :)
  • We let our "yard-guys" go in an effort to cut down costs around the house, so we're in charge of the yard work now, which is quite liberating actually. Our neighbor helps us out a lot, which is a blessing. We learn from him each week.
  • We'll be spending Thanksgiving with our good friends, the O'Brien's this year. They have graciously invited us to join their family (and extended family) for the holiday - can't wait! The kids will have a blast, and it will be nice to partake in some surrogate family activities since we don't have any family coming to us (or travels to them) this year.
  • We're gearing up for our holiday visit to Indianapolis in mid-December. Should be an exciting time to be there with family and friends. We plan to take Jack to see Disney On Ice ~ and I'm really hoping that Buzz Lightyear will make an appearance!!
  • Nana and Papa will arrive on Christmas Eve to spend Christmas with us this year! It will no doubt be magical ~ Santa is a big part of each day's conversations already... so his arrival, and the arrival of the special time of year, is something we're all excited about! :)
  • In that same vein, holiday planning/shopping is in the mix too... what to get for friends and family? I think a lot of homemade and thoughtful items will be on the list this year.

Well, I'll have to wrap up here, but all is well with the Jentz Crew. So thankful for everything that God has given us and for the wonderful people who are in our thoughts and prayers each day.

Best wishes!

Was it this easy? And is this a good idea?

I truly don't have time to do this right now, but I just created this new blog, and feel compelled to write something real quick.
This is where the story of the Jentz Crew will be and where updates will be posted for friends and family. Thanks for looking and come again soon!
